Due to the heavy load of gear, the gear blank of the vertical roller mill is produced during the casting process. The gear blank is made of the 40 material which can meet the strength requirements and save the material. The key of vertical roller mill is using normalizing during the heat treatment to improve the cutting performance.
The blank shape is uncomplicated, so the both ends of the rough surface did not need process. First, we should use the rough lathing to manufacture the cylindrical bore. Then the inner round of the finish lathing will contact with the shaft, so that the surface roughness of the blank shape will becomes 1.6. Finally, we should use a milling machine to mill the keyways. Then the mounting holes of vertical roller mill gear are finished.
The processing of the tooth surface adopts generating method hobbing. As the gear modulus is greater than 8, so the full depth can be divided into three times. The first depth should be 1.4 ~~ 1.6mm; the second cut should remains 0.5 to 1mm of the whole material; the third cut should cut to full depth, so that the processing of tooth surface is completed.
As the work requirements, the gear is hardened gear. After the processing of tooth surface, we should adopt surface hardening process to the tooth to meet the requirements of tooth hardness. After this process, the gear will be processed into finished products and can be assembled into a working machine.
